You might be wondering about the word "SMALL TEA". She was also wondering about the classification of the tea into small and big. This was the first time that she was witnessing in the Deccan land of our country.
The price of the small tea is 6rupees and of the big tea is 10rupees. Being a university student, financial crisis has always been there. And if you are dating in the same university, then the financial crisis exacerbates more and then you understand the the power of money.
In the power of the money, 6rupees was her rescue from the midmonth till the first date of the coming new month. And 10 rupees was for the first 15 days of any month.
But small chai with him was a mirth for her. Sharing that small cup and sipping in made her to loiter it as long as possible. Now you must be thinking why small tea, the obvious reason was the financial crisis in the last week of the month.
The first two weeks of the month used to be their luxury week, the week of Hyderabadi Biryani, Mandi, Paneer butter masala and naan of Delhi 39, coffee of the Bohemian cafe, Gol Gappe , movies, ice cream , Idli, Dosa, Bonda , Pizza ,and the list goes on.
The same pattern used to go with being in the reading hall or the library. The last two week didn't give them the space to be the king or queen of their own bubble, because the financial crisis used to wake up them from the slumber of being a temporary resident of the utopian wall.
The chai was so vital that it was no less than a lifeline and always used to push them to be discreet and pivot in tough times.
During internal or end semester exams, tea was their master.
Now being in home she is missing the tea, the reading hall, the library, the classroom, the campus, the night walk, the buffalo lake, the white rock, the mushroom rock, the C canteen, the maggi, the birthday celebration at the cup circle , the flirt, the commute from the North to the South and vice versa, late night lift to LH(Ladies Hostel), the 3 AM ride on the borrowed bike to the DLF to the Charminar to the Necklace road and the list goes on.
She is missing him.
She is missing the “small tea”.
