In this blog, I am going to tell you guys about the e-sport with the biggest prize pool and why you guys are not even aware of this game.
This game is dota or (Defence Of The Ancient) 2
Dota 2 is the game I was introduced to by my school teacher actually. One day she called all tech club members for a meeting and said we are going to have a gaming competition with all DAV schools in almost all competitive videos games you know of like Counter-Strike, League Of Legends (The game with 70% similarity with DOTA 2) and Dota 2 and many more. Almost everyone wanted to play Counter-Strike so I easily got on the DOTA2 team as no one knew how to play it and I consider myself lucky that I choose to play Dota2 that day. Although we didn't win, obviously as my teammates didn't even know how to move their players. I got to play and interact with great Dota players, with whom I actually made a lobby and played even after the contest.
Like I told you before Dota 2 is 70% similar to League of Legends (LOL), it just has a different hero pool to pick from, still, people are not aware of it as much as they are aware of LOL. This is simply because they spend more on marketing than on the prize pool. On the other hand, Dota 2 spend almost everything on making their international TI as exciting as it can, indeed adding more money to the prize pool makes everything exciting, if you don't believe me why don't you go and see Mrbeast's youtube channel.
Dota 2 is a game of teamwork, planning, knowledge of mechanics, and vision. Each DOTA 2 game is basically a 5 vs 5 team match, the objective is to destroy the enemies' ancient and protect ours. The team distribution is generally like 1 carry, 2 core, 1 soft support, and 1 hard support.
Dota 2 is currently having 123 playable heroes(with an average of 4.5 abilities each ) and 208 items, so if you want to excel in this game you need to store information about approximately 1000 different abilities and items. You need to know which de-buffs and buffs are not dispellable, which abilities have what cast range and mana requirements, and many more things. Actually, when I think about it, you need to know at least 2000-3000 things to excel in this game.
So good luck and make sure to try it out.
