Lets talk about world war 2.

Benito Mussolini moves to Switzerland from Italy in 1902. He gets into socialism, writing socialist newspapers and starting an overthrow of european monarchs. And this leads into getting him in trohble with the Swiss police. So after being arrested he is sent back to italy and returns after his release and again gets arrested and again gets sent back to italy and completes his military service. And after all that he becomes an socialist. His speeches made him famous among italian socialists. He was against war. So when Italy colonized Libya, he rioted and got arrested. And then world war 1 happened and so he protested italy's involvement. Then he thought that this might help overthrow the european monarchs and so he became pro war. Because of this change in his ideology, he was kicked out of the party. 

Italy was on the winners side in world war 1, but at the end they only got a little and felt cheated. And the italian people were unhappy. So when Mussolini came along with his fascist movement, he gained a lot of support. And so he became the prime minister and established dictatorship with him at its centre. So europe had its first dictator.

Now moving on to Germany.

Germany had been on the losers side in world war 1. They were in bad condition, military wise, economically and with a weak government. And then came along ADOLF HITLER, the most hated man now. But that was not the case for that time's germany, germans loved him. He started a new political party and in 1923, went on a marchand got arrested. But he gained a lot of popularity and eventually the president made hitler Chancellor in 1933. He saw himself as the saviour of Germany and established dictatorship. 

So the two dictators, mussolini and hitler started to get along as they had almost same ideologies and the same enemy. And japan joined in with them. 

Now the war begins

 Germany

Hitler violated the treaty of versailles, he made his army huge. The allies decided to do nothing. Then he thought to take back Rhineland and yet the allies did nothing. 

The 2nd step was to increase the Aryan Population. And for that he needed LEBENSRAUM, he intended to take over the world. But he managed with a small part of europe and now the allies started to get worried.
