Today we will discuss about food. More specifically, breakfast and why is it so important. You must have surely heard of the popular saying that โ breakfast is the most important meal of the dayโ. Now what does it really mean?? Lets see..
As its name is โBreakfastโ , it breaks the overnight fasting time period. In the morning, when you have been without any food for as long as 10-12 hours, your glycogen levels are very low, which is responsible for your energy. It helps you replenish your glucose supply in order to boost your energy levels, and also provides other essential nutrients required for well health. Break fast kick starts your metabolism and help you burn some calories throughout your day. Now experts explain that people who eat good breakfast are less likely to fall in the overeating range for the rest of the day. It also enhances your brainpower as your brain needs energy that means glucose in order to function properly.
Now you may ask that โ What if miss breakfastโ?? Well, there are no benefits to skipping any meal of the day, it will not help you lose fat if you starve. If you are a person who wakes up early and workout in the morning and don't have time, it is all on you if you can exercise with an empty stomach or not. And also about the myth that โ skipping breakfast makes you overweightโ, so it doesn't, it is fine to not eat breakfast, but still to have that headstart of a metabolism is nice and healthy for your body.
Now to answer the question โ what does a healthy breakfast consist of??โ
Well, you can have something that includes whole grains ( bagels or whole grain rolls or cereals), lean protein ( eggs, lean meat, nuts or legumes), low fat dairy and fruits and veggies. You can also add green tea if you like to.
A healthy breakfast might reduce your risk of any illness. Compared to the ones who don't have breakfast, those who eat breakfast daily tend to have a very lower risk of diseases including type 2 diabetes and obesity.
