Hi again! Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in great health and are having a blast of a day.

Today we will be discussing on the topic of ancient architecture. Especially, one of the 7 wonders of the world and situated in India, The Taj Mahal of Agra. Now, we all know a little bit about this masterpiece but still, i will try to share almost everything connected to the Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahal is a kind of Mausoleum made of ivory white marbles. It is situated on the right side of the Yamuna river in the city of Agra. It was made by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The tomb is the centre of a 42 acre complex, which has a mosque and a guest house. The height of the Taj Mahal is about 73 meters, 240 feet.  The architect of this wonder is  Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. As this was made in the Mughal rule, the style is of Mughal Architecture. Taj Mahal is believed to be completed by the year of 1653. It costed about 32 million rupees at that time, which now will be approximately 70 million rupees in 2021.

This project employed about 20,000 workers under the guidance of Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. In the year of 1983, it was designated as one of the UNESCO World site heritage. It was also said to be one of the universally admired architectural masterpiece of the world's heritage. Taj Mahal attracts about 8 million visitors in a year from all over the world. It was built using materials from all over Asia. It was considered that over 1 ,000 elephants  w er e used to transport the building materials.

Soon after the Taj Mahal was completed, Shah Jahan was disposed by his own son Aurangzeb and put under house arrest. When Shah Jahan died, his son buried him right next to his wife in the mausoleum. In the year of 1942, government had scaffolding to disguise the building in the anticipation by the Japanese Air atta cks.
