Simple Srategies To Overcome Distractions

Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in good health and are having a blast of a day.

Distractions are the thing stopping people from getting to the next level, there is so much time being wasted and most don't even realize. 

 • Clean your work space. 

Organized chaos is still chaos. Take a few minutes to clean up your office or study desk and your mind will feel cleaner as well. A cheap little shelf can go a long way towards making your work space less chaotic and more properly organized. 

• Also clear your virtual work space.

At times we can take a minute or two to remember what to say or do, because we have over 50 tabs open in our browser of a mind. To clear up this space and go smoothly through your day by: write down everything you want to do and prioritize your actions. This makes it feel a little easy to operate. 

• Keep your phone silent and out of sight when you are working. 

It helps to not have your phone's notifications sounds or vibrations on, at all when we are working, unless we are expecting something which would be worth being distracted by. Every one of those sounds will always keep distracting us. You can not focus well if your phone is constantly beeping and buzzing at you. To keep it totally out of our ear is good, but also need to keep it out of sight to really keep it out of mind. An interesting study showed that a phone being in our field of view reduces our performances on attention based tasks. Having a glowing box in sight triggers your brain to think “ oh man, i wonder what is in there” the crazy thing is, the effect happened even if the phone belonged someone else.

• Get rid of internal distractions. 

Internal distractions are quite easier to deal with. They are typically to dos we are trying to keep track or things we are trying to work through in our heads. The best way to handle internal distractions is to just write them all out. Use the “brain dump” strategy. Grab a pen and paper, then write it down everything on your mind. Your mind will be much clearer and you will be able to focus much better.
