Before continuing this blog, I know that my previous blog was supposed to be the “ last one”, and the reason behind it was i didnt had enough time to publish 3 blogs a day. Still i wont be publishing thrice a day, im not even sire if i would be able to publish daily but i still like the feeling of knowing and sharing some different things. So maybe i will continue blogging but i cant promise to publish everyday.
So i read a book last week known as “The One Minute Manager” by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson . And there are some advices which might help us all to manage ourselves and our time. You see one minute manager is the one who gets expected results without taking much time. He is known to operate with a 3 fold rule system.
While setting goals, the manager makes it crystal clear what responsibilities everyone has, including him. His goal setting is based on the 80/20 rule, which refers to the 80% of your results will come from 20% of your goals. Then he only expects everyone to complete that 20% of their goals, the most important parts of their responsibilities. He also ensures that the report of their work should not exceed 250 words to express.
The manager always finds a way to catch you do something good rather than catching you do something unproductive. So when he sees that you have done something right, he comes over and tells you exactly what you did right and how great it makes him feel as a manager.
But why does this point works???
People do not like being manipulated and everyone should respect that. And if you want to train someone to be the winner, it is very useful if you praise them with their starting steps.
People who feel good about themselves, produce good results.
If an employee with some experience does something wrong, knowing that they understand how to do their job right, then the manager is quick to response. He will tell them how it affects the workplace and how he feels about it. He attacks the behaviour of the employee rather than the employee itself. If the review of any mistake done by the employee is short and quick, then the employee would not be demotivated or overwhelmed and the performance review remains an ongoing process.
Hope you liked this blog.
