In today's blog, we will be having a look at our own India's great architectural and wonderful landmark. India is a very great place for architectural enthusiasts. It is filled with ancient as well as modern marvels.
○Qutub Minar, Delhi.
Qutb al Din Aibak built a 70 meter tall tower dedicated to his victory to capture Delhi. It was constructed in 1193. It contains five storeys, each with a separate balcony.
○ Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple of Delhi.
It is a marvel of Indian culture and spirituality. It was built and dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan. It also holds the record for the largest most comprehensive Hindu temple in the whole world.
○Rashtrapati Bhavan of Delhi
The president's house or the rashtrapati Bhavan serves as the official home for the president of India. It has about 340 rooms and is spread across an area of a total of five acres. It was designed by very famous architects Herbert Baker and Sir Edwin Lutyens.
○The Red Fort of Delhi.
This is considered to be the most historically prominent monument in Delhi. It was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan. Built in 1639, it was built when his kingdom decided to move from Agra to Delhi its capital
○ Humayun's tomb of New Delhi
This is a resting place of Humayun, the Mughal Emperor. This was built in the 1570s at the request of his wife. And today it is a UNESCO world heritage site.
○Hawa mahal of Jaipur.
It means the Palace of Winds. It is one of the major landmarks of the Jaipur city. It is a five strorey building and stands 15 metres tall. It was built by King Sawai Pratap Singh and was designed to let women of royalties to witness the cities life and festivals.
○Mysore Palace of Mysore.
It is a very famous landmark in Mysore city. It was a home of royal family of Mysore. And it is now a three storey building that depicts Hindu, Muslim, Gothic and even Rajput architectural styles. After india's independence, this was turned to a museum holding priceless jewellery, paintings and various antiques.
