This blog will be a review of a movie named “ the skin i live in”. The skin i live in is a spanish psychological science fiction thriller movie. The movie is R rated for its disturbing violent content which includes sexual manipulation, graphic nudity and sexual violence. This is a story where love takes a lot of forms, it is how the viewer is guided to sympathize with the characters.
Dr. Robert Ledgard, who is a skilled plastic surgeon, is on his journey to develop a new type of skin that will be resistant to fire burns and even insects. He intended to do this research after his beloved wife was brutally burned in a car accident. E tries and succeeds to save his wife, but as she wakes up and sees herself with the burned skin, she decides to take her own life than to live in a skin that was not humane. After 12 years, he succeeds in this project and experiments it on Vera Cruz, who is held prisoner in the doctors mansion against her will.

So when the doctor's wife kills herself, he is left alone with his only daughter who happens to be in a critical mental health and stays far from social touch. On one of his parties, she tries to be more social and attends the party and talks with people. There, she meets a young drugged up boy, Vincente. She goes with him in the garden, which vincente sees as her consent to have sex with, but she was unaware of the social form of consent. So he tries to arouse her and f*cks her, atleast thats what he thought he was doing, but she seems to be uncomfortable and says no, but he doesnt stop and rapes her.
Doctor robert goes to find her immediately after he realizes that she is not at the party. He finds her in the garden unconcious and so he tries to wake her up and comfort her. But she doesnt seem to recognize him because of her traume and is scared of her own father. 
After she is taken care of, she still seems to be horrifyingly scared of her father and all men. She decides to suicide after everything that happened with her.
And so, the doctor is left all alone. In his rage of revenge, he kidnaps vincente. He performs vaginoplasty on him and renames her as Vera Cruz.
