Behavioral Psychology You Should Know...

Welcome or welcome back my dear bloggers to my daily blogs. I hope you all are in great health and are having a blast of a day.

This blog will be a bit about behavioral psychology or behaviorism. It is defined as a systematic approach towards learning about the behaviours of humans and animals.

Behaviorism is indeed a kind of  flat earth view of a mind. It has substituted for the erstwhile anthro-morphic view of the rat and a ratomorphic view of a man.

The spotlight effect.

You think that your actions that are embarrassing to you, are noticed by others more than they actually are noticed. For example, you might think when you say something mildly stupid in a conversation that “ everyone will think i am the stupidest” when in reality no one really does think of you like that.

The pygmalion effect.

A drastic improvement in someone's performance when they are expected to perform better or achieve more. Like a students achievement is somewhat improved by his/ her teachers expectations.

The pygmalion effect.

The tetris effect.

If you spend a lot of time and attention on a particular activity, your mental images and dreams become full of it. Like when you are playing a lot of tetris, your mind becomes full of it.

The Pratfall Effect.

The tendency to change yourself after someone makes a mistake, depending on that someone's percieved competence. Like highly competent individuals usually become more likeable after making mistakes, while normal people tend to be less likeable even when they commit any mistake.

The False Consensus Effect.

You sometimes over estimate on how people share your opinions and beliefs. It is like everyone in this whole world would believe that saving the environment is important just because you believe that, whereas some people don't.

The false consensus effect…

The Semantic Satiation.

A very impactful sentence or word will lose its very meaning if you repeat it many times. Repetition triggers a pattern linked with the meaning of the word that causes a reduction in the intensity of the neural activity.

The Hostile Media Effect.

People with powerful opinions sees the normal media coverage as somewhat biased against them and in favor of their opponents.

So that was all for this blog, guys. I hope you all liked it. Thank you so m uch for reading this far…..
