Appetizing Snack- Crispy,spicy French Fries

Good day to all my lovely readers and bloggers !!

Fairy Queen is back again with another informative and interesting blog. From time immemorial , snacks have played a vital role in our day to day diet. Some people who wish to be fitness streaks always prefer sprouts ,salad ,soups for their snack. But the crunchy, crispy chips have always been a topper in snacks. Moreover kids are always on cloud nine when they eat chips. 

The basic chips are cooked and salted, additional varieties are manufactured using various flavorings and ingredients including herbs, spices herbs, cheeses, other natural flavors, artificial flavours and additives. Though we aspire for this mouthwatering and delicious snack, a significant question crops up my mind. Is it beneficial for our health ? 

 Long-term side effects of eating a lot of chips are weight gain, trouble sleeping, dry skin,  headaches, and inflammation. But as the saying goes ," Too much of anything is fit for nothing ".So its upto us to consume chips in a restricted way so as to ensure the physical fitness of our body.

Junk or healthy food ,homemade foods are known for its quality

PERFECT FRENCH FRIES :

French fries, finger chips, french-fried potatoes, or simply fries, however they are named, are cut deep-fried potatoes, possibly originating from France. They are prepared by cutting potatoes into even strips, drying them, and frying them, usually in a deep fryer.

PROCEDURE :

  • Wash the potatoes, scrubbing them well, and dry completely.
  • Peeled or unpeeled, the cut is absolutely key when making fries.
  • Lay the cut side flat on the cutting surface, and cut into 1/2-inch to 1/4-inch slices.
  • Put the cut potatoes in a large bowl and cover with cool water. Soak for at least 20 minutes or up to an hour. This step gets rid of excess starch.
  • Drain the potato sticks and pat them dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel.  The drier they are before frying, the better.
  • Bring at least 2 inches of oil in a large heavy pot to 325 F. Once the oil is hot, fry the potatoes for about 5 minutes. 

TIPS FOR PERFECT FRIES :

  • Work in batches if you're making more than one or two potatoes' worth. Adding too many fries at one time will bring down the temperature of the oil and cause soggy fries. 
  • The fries should be cooked through but still as pale as they were when you put them in the oil.
  • Serve the fries with mouthwatering tomato sauce.
