It is a time to have Jamun fruits 😋 . It is an evergreen tree 🌲 can be planted in spring and monsoon seasons February and March , July and August.
It has two varieties namely;
1. Ram Jamun
2. Round shape Jamun /java plum/ Indian blackberries:
1. Ram Jamun:
It has oval shape and color is pinkish purple , it has small size seeds inside. This variety is rippen in the month of June and July. The fruit 😋 is juicy and sweet. It is grown in North Indian side. It is commonly available in both rural as well as urban areas.
2. Round shape Jamun/java plum/ Indian blackberries:
Compare to Ram Jamun, it has less in juicy, sweetness and weight. The seeds present in this variety is larger compared to Ram Jamun.
Fruits are rippen in the month of August.
It has got valuable place in Ayurveda medicine 💊.
It is boon fruit for diabetic patients.
Nutrients value:
It has high moisture(water) contents.
Rich in iron.
Good sources of Vitamin C, carbohydrates, protein, iron, magnesium, potassium etc..,
Uses or benefits 🤔:
1.A little quantity of fruit syrup is very useful for curing diarrhoea.
2. Diabetic:
Jamun seed powder reduces the quantity of sugar levels in the urine very quickly and permanently. That's why it is boon for diabetic patients.
Equal quantity of jamun juice and mango juice are quenching thirst of diabetic patient.
3. Oral care:
Jamun leaves 🍃 powder are used as a tooth powder for strengthening teeth, gums and also eliminating bad breath.
4. Skin:
Regular intake of jamun juice gives you a healthy glowing skin because it detoxify and purifies the blood.
Storage method:
It can be stored 3 to 4 days in ordinary conditions.
You can also store upto three weeks at low temperature 🌡 of 8 to 10 degree Celsius.
How to eat:
You can eat it raw or cooked.
But when you eat 😋 raw you will get all nutritive values.
I usually prefer eating with little bit of sparkling a salt on it.🧂 😅
Effects of Jumun fruits:
1. Pregnant 🤰 and breast-feeding women must consult the doctor before taking it.
2. It should not be consumed empty stomach and after having milk because of its sour.
3. Eating too much of jamun leads to fever 🤒, body ache and throat problems, gas.
4.Atherosclerosis and history of formation of blood clot patients must avoid it.
