What is Migraine?
Migraine is a common chronic headache characterized by recurrent attack lasting 4-72 hours.Typically episodes affects one half of the head.pain are pulsating in nature.headache can be initiated by trigger ;bright light,sound, and extreme hunger stress ,hormonal imbalance ,lack of sleep and alcohol.

sensitivity to sound,light,movements
Nausea and vomiting
vertigo
Dizziness
Episodes occurs daily or near daily
pain is recurring in nature or it comes and goes
Migraine aura includes:-
visual phenomena such as seeing various shapes and bright spot or flashes light. Often a feeling of pins and needles begins on one side in the hand and arm and spreads to the nose and mouth on the same sides.
Diagnosis:-
The diagnosis based on signs and symptoms. The diagnosis of migraines without aura according to the international headache society can be made according to following criterie the 5,4,3,2,1 criteria.
Cluster Headache:-
it is a rare types of headache. One of the trigeminal autonomic cephalgias , of their trigeminal distribution.Short duration and ipsilateral headache.
symptoms:-
unilateral head or face pain lasting from about 15 minutes to 3hours
severe distressing
pain areas usually orbital and temporal
onset and offset are rapid burning and piercing and throbbing pain.
lachrymation
nasal congestion
eyelid edema
pain around the eyes
Tension Headache :-
Chronic head pain syndrome characterized by bilateral tight band like discomfort . The pain comes slowly and fluctuate in severity’s and may be episodic and chronic.
Secondary Headache:-
secondary headache are those that are due to an underlying structural or infectious problem in the head or neck.This is a very broad group of medical conditions ranging from dental pain from infected teeth or pain from infected sinus.
secondary headache due to trauma ,Disorders,infection,substance abuse or withdrawal.
traumatic headache under this category including post concussion headache.This group of headache associated with substance abuse and excess use of medications used to treat headaches.
