Nowadays, you can find anyone on social media. It is a platform that can be worth your time only if you use it wisely. Our youth spend most of their time on social media. And this can have serious effects on both mental and physical health. For once, think of it seriously. And then tell that do you still think it is worth risking your health and life? Wait and before coming to any conclusion, read further, and know some of the major effects of it.
One of the major effects of social media on the young generation is sleep depriviation or insomnia. It is observed that usage of social media platforms has increased in recent years. Youngsters spend most of their time online chatting, watching videos, playing games, etc. They won't even realize it, and they will get addicted. This addiction is not at all good and poses serious health risks. It can disturb their sleeping routine, leading to a lack of sleep or no sleep. And it will further affect their studies, behavior, and thinking process. Using too much social media can even lead to depression or anxiety. Nowadays, whenever we find something interesting online, we try to imitate it. Sometimes, people even try to go beyond their limits to do this, even if they are uncomfortable. And when others don't like it, they get upset and can even feel inferiority complex. Some can even take steps like suicidal attempts if they do something about which they later feel guilty. Another serious issue is the increase in cyber-crime cases. Many become victims of cyber-crime. People sometimes in greed for money or getting something else agrees to policies of applications and websites, without even reading. It can lead to bank frauds, or phone's media files can be misused. They then get bullied or blackmailed when someone gets their personal information. There are so many campaigns and advertisements organized to create awareness about these types of crimes, but most of us still don't pay attention while surfing on the internet.
I hope that after reading this, you will at least think of it now. And you will do things that are best for your life and health. Also, instead of spending time online, explore and enjoy the real world and its beauty. (But the outside world is not safe right now because of Covid-19, so you can enjoy going outside after this pandemic phase is over and when it is safe outside.)
