Hello everyone,
Hope you all are doing fine.
Now, as we are in the 21st century, the world has come way too far in modernization. As years passed, many developments took place in India. Earlier, there were no mobile phones, but now there are various types of mobile phones available. We have now many new technologies as well as our scientists have done numerous scientific inventions. In the past few years, we have excelled in various fields.
Even though we have evolved so much, there is still one thing in which we are almost the same as earlier. And that is gender-biased stereotypes prescribed by our society for males and females. Yes, even men become prey to such stereotypes. For instance, it is always said and even believed by many people that men can't cry. Do you think that's right? According to me it's not because everyone goes through a bad phase in their life, and if women can show their emotions, then why can't men. Men are always asked to be strong, and that crying portrays cowardice. But, I don't think that's right to say. Our society says that 'don't cry like women' because they believe that women are not strong, and that's why they cry. And this is the reason that women still lag behind men in many areas. They are not even given the opportunity to do things as men do.
I don't think that women are any less than men. They can do anything and everything like men. Men are strong and that's not wrong, but even women are. In fact I believe that women are stronger than men. Giving birth to a child is not at all easy. Women have to go through so much pain to bring a new life into the world. And, even now many families, not even the husband of the women, don't understand this. Moreover, women are even forced to have a boy child. And if the baby is a girl, then some families pressurize to abort the child (yes even now also in many parts of India).
It's high time now that we all should understand these issues and fight against them. Both men and women should work together to make a better future for themselves, and their future generation. We all need to change our mindsets regarding these evils that are still prevalent in our society. If we can make developments in so many things, I hope we all can together fight against such stereotypes also. Women are always raising their voice for their rights, then why not men also. And this is what true equality means, when there is no discrimination, be it for men or women.
Thank you.
