Hello everyone! In this blog is about tooth…..
A healthy diet can help reduce your chances of getting dental problems. Eating foods rich in calcium and vitamin C helps strengthen bones and teeth. Foods high in these vitamins are broccoli, kale, spinach, collard greens, almonds, salmon, oranges, strawberries, tofu, beans, lentils and cheese. Other sources include milk, fortified cereals, orange juice, and yogurt.
Brushing twice daily with fluoride-free toothpaste and flossing gently at least once per day will keep plaque buildup under control. This reduces the risk of developing cavities and gum disease. Fluoride strengthens enamel, making it less likely that decayed areas become cavitated. To prevent decay, brush after meals and use a soft-bristled toothbrush. Floss at least once per day, especially between back teeth and underneath tight spots. These spots are difficult to reach, but if cleaned regularly, they won't cause much damage.
Maintain good oral hygiene throughout the year. If you have periodontal (gum) disease, see your dentist soon for treatment. If it's not treated early enough, gum disease may progress into bone loss and eventual tooth loss.
Get regular checkups from your dentist, especially if you're pregnant or about to start taking birth control pills. Some medications used to treat depression, diabetes or arthritis may increase the chance of bleeding gums. Oral health care visits should be routine.
Have your wisdom teeth removed before age 20. Having four impacted wisdom teeth makes it easier for bacteria to enter your bloodstream. When this occurs, infection spreads easily to nearby tissues and organs.
Apply heat – Heat can actually help relieve aching teeth. As your mouth becomes hot, this stimulates blood flow to the gums, which helps flush toxins out. You should use warm salt water rinses and/or chew gum if you have toothache.
Chew sugarless gum – Gum can cause painful sores, especially if you put too much pressure on it. Try chewing only sugar-free gum instead.
Avoid acidic foods – Acids and other compounds in fruits can erode tooth enamel. To avoid this, eat less citrus fruit and drink lots of water while eating.
Use cold compresses to reduce swelling. You can use ice packs or compress with cool water. Coldness helps reduce swelling and ease out pain.
Get professional treatment. As soon as possible, go to a dentist who can give you a proper diagnosis on what needs to be done about your tooth. Take note that this may not only cure the problem but also restore your teeth back to their original condition. Your dentist should also inform you how to take care of your teeth at home.
Avoid sugar-rich foods and drinks, Sugars are great for short term energy boosts, but they can also cause teeth problems if consumed at high levels. Sugar consumption causes plaque bacteria to multiply rapidly, resulting in cavities. Other things that contribute to bad breath include smoking, alcohol use, eating garlic, and spicy food. If these behaviors persist, you should consider seeing your dentist.
