Hello everyone! In this blog is about dairy products….
Milk:
Milk is known as an excellent food that helps to build strong bones and teeth, is great for your immune system, and has been used for thousands of years as medicine. If you want to start eating dairy foods, then milk is the best way to go. However, not everyone likes milk products, and some people are allergic to cow's milk. This is where casein comes into play. Casein is an ingredient found in milk that is responsible for causing allergy symptoms. So if you want to consume dairy foods while avoiding casein, then you need to find other ways to get protein into your diet. There are many other types of dairy foods that do not contain any casein and are safe to consume. Try almond milk, hemp milk, soy milk, rice milk, coconut milk, oat milk, and flax milk!
Yogurt:
Yogurt is another good option for dairy foods. Most yogurts have little or no casein due to its fermenting process. Since yogurt does not contain any casein, it is considered safe for consumption. Some companies even make their own versions of yogurt without casein. However, just like milk, not everyone enjoys drinking yogurt, especially if they are lactose intolerant. To avoid consuming yogurt with casein, try using non-dairy alternatives such as coconut yogurt, almond butter, peanut butter, almond meal, even cottage cheese. These options can give you the protein you need without having to drink up all the deliciousness of dairy foods!
Cheese:
Cheese is similar to yogurt in its benefits. However, it tends to have higher fat content and less protein per 100 grams. Some types of cheese are mozzarella, cheddar, feta, Swiss, and gouda. These cheeses contain calcium, vitamin B12, zinc, iron, and magnesium.
Cheese can form part of a healthy, balanced diet, but it's good to keep track of how much you eat and how often as it can be high in saturated fat and salt.
Butter:
Butter is a fantastic source of fat that contributes to overall heart health. According to a study published in the Journal of Nutrition, people who regularly consume butter have lower cholesterol than those that don’t. Additionally, a 2014 study showed that butter may improve memory and mental performance. In terms of its effect on body composition, a study conducted at the University of Missouri discovered that overweight individuals lost almost twice as much weight when they followed a low-fat diet versus high-carbohydrate diets.
