Do And Don't Do In Hair Combing

Hello everyone! In this blog is about hair combing….

Do

Use a wide tooth comb:

An average size tooth comb has 40 teeth per inch. Combting with a narrow tooth comb will leave gaps between your hair and the comb. These spaces allow your hair's natural oils to escape and reduce the chances of breaking hairs.

Use a natural bristle brush:

Natural bristles are softer, can last longer, and are gentle on your scalp which means less damage done to your hair. They are also better at separating the strands of hair so that they won’t get stuck in them causing pulling, ripping, and breaking. Natural bristles are much easier to clean than synthetic ones so you have cleaner hair and a healthier scalp.

Brush from root to tip:

Brush your hair from roots to tips, not just the top. When brushing from the roots down, you should be able to feel the difference in texture between your scalp and where the hair ends. This shows us that the scalp has been cleaned and no dirt is sticking to your hair anymore. You want to make sure you clean each section thoroughly so that there is minimal buildup of oil, dirt, etc. and that your hair can breathe. There are some awesome dry shampoo options out there too so you can skip this step often if needed!

Wash your hair after using a blow dryer:

Blow drying your hair damages the hair shafts and causes split ends. Wait at least 48 hours before using a blow dryer again.

Do use conditioner:

Conditioners are great because they protect hair from environmental factors such as heat, humidity, chlorine, and other strong chemicals. They also add moisture to the hair and provide a fresh look.

Don't

Don’t use your fingers to comb your hair:

A comb works best if used with long-fingered gloves. When using your fingers, comb them backwards from the roots to prevent pulling your hair forward.

Avoid brushing your hair after shampooing:

Brushing your hair creates friction that pulls the cuticle up, causing the hair to become brittle.Instead, wait 24 hours before you brush your hair, and gently pat your scalp with a towel instead.

Don't comb your long hair on wet roots:

You'll cause clogs and tangles. Also, if you're going to comb over wet hair, make sure to use a wide-toothed comb.

Don't use chemicals :

Do not use any kind of chemical products in your hair. They are harmful for your scalp, hair and color.

Don’t over-wash your hair:

Over washing can dry out the hair and make them brittle. If you have to wash your hair, apply shampoo and conditioner only once a week. Try to avoid using hot water as much as possible. Hot water dries up the roots of the hair and makes it look dull. Use cool water instead.

Do not use too much product:

Only apply enough product that is needed; this will prevent over-drying your hair and make it look greasy.

Avoid using hot air:

Hot air dries out your hair and can cause damage and breakage. Instead of using a hairdryer, opt for a hair straightener or leave-in conditioner.
