In a world where end-goals and destinations are fixated; we often forget that we keep running behind the things that we desire. Our goals and happiness start depending on a certain place, job, or even things. We tend to become happy only when we receive our desired results. We are so much into achieving our desires that we forget to embrace our journey. This blog is a just a small reminder to start finding joy in the smallest of the moments, experiences, and even lessons that help shape our lives.
How many times have you been sad over things that don't end up favouring you? You prepare for a job, you end up being rejected. You start preparing your partner's favourite food and eventually end up creating a mess, you don't get your desired grades, you end up losing some of your friends, and the list goes on and on. And, between all the losses, we forget so easily that we also have things to be grateful for. Instead of counting our blessings, we attract more of negative thoughts which ultimately makes us feel bad about our lives. You automatically start feeling, why are all the bad things only happening in my life? Why has god only chosen me? Why am I the unluckiest? What is wrong with me? Isn't it? But to be honest with this, our mind works like a magnet. Even though one bad thing happens in a day, we end up wasting our time thinking of all the bad/negative things happened earlier.
So, for a while, keep all the bad things aside, and start counting your blessings for once. Let's say your mother preparing your favourite food, you playing with your pet, you and your father going on for some shopping, a street walk at night, you visiting a nearest temple, you randomly helping strangers, and many more smallest of the moments you go through in a day. Don't you feel your life is beautiful? You have your parents, your siblings, the people around you, and whatnot! (only when you start seeing it)
Well, I strongly believe that gratitude should be our daily practice. Start living in the small moments, as you won't get that moment twice. Not everyday is going to be the same, but yes, if we start bringing positivity in our lives, we can surely grow. Being positive doesn't mean wrong things or bad days won't come, it's just that you start accepting all of those hard times, and learn from it!
