Today, my article is about my place. Yes,, it's kerala.. The God's Own Country.. Kerala is one of the most beautiful state of South India. The main speciality of kerala is food and Temples.. There are varieties of healthy foods are available here and there are many temples here which are many centuries old. Those who visit Kerala can see it..
Here are some main attractions of kerala.
Kerala is a beautiful state with rich in healthy foods.. The main food items are idli and Sambar, Dosa, Chapathy or wheat Roti, Puttu and Kadala.. These are steamed foods which provide healthy nutrients..Other than this there are also some snack recipies like pazhampori ( Banana fry), Uzhunnu vada ( urad dhal ), Vattayappam( a steamed sweet snack using rice flour and jaggery ).. Kerala is also famous for Sadhya ( meal) in Banana leaf.. It is given in the picture below.. There is an order to eat this meal.. First we want to eat the snack and then rice with curries and finally there is a sweet dish called payasam. Pour the payasam in the leaf and crush the pappad above it and enjoy the sweetness along with Banana…
2. Festivals
Festivals of kerala are really beautiful and also colorful.The main festivals are Vishu( april), Onam ( celebrating in august to September ).During Onam season, people of kerala make Ona pookalam using different flowers..That picture is shown below.That is, making different designs with colourful flowers and they dance around it in a circular way…
3. Nature
Kerala has the most beautiful nature. There are many places in kerala which has eye catching and attractive spots.
Places like Munnar, Vagamon, Idukki, Athirappilly ( waterfalls) etc are extremely beautiful to see.
4. Games of Kerala
The people of Kerala are really smart and active. There are many games here to enjoy.. The famous one is Vallamkali.. That is a game using Heavy boat. This game is conducting during august to September months..
5. Art Forms
Kerala is the land of arts and Festivals.. There are many traditional art forms are here to see.. The most important art form is Kathakali.. Kathakali is performing based on some traditional stories of kerala as well as south india.
The picture shown above is the Kathakali.. Next one is Mohiniyattom.. Mohini means Lady or a girl.. That means, Mohiniyattom is performed by girls only. This is one of the beautiful dance form of Kerala.
