Review Of The Agilan Movie

AGILAN also known as Agilan: King of the Indian Ocean is neo-noir action thriller film directed by N Kalyanakrishnan produced by Screen Scene Media Entertainment. This film was scheduled earlier for a September 2022 release. AGILAN doesn’t play around as the film straightaway gets to business and surprisingly throughout the film it stays true to its script sticking to the storyline without any digressions. The sea-port staging makes the movie very believable. The surprise, unfortunately doesn’t remain wrapped for long and when revealed the predictability creeps in. Again, the noble cause towards the end sounds very utopian to trust. The screenplay is very ordinary and that is a huge letdown considering the backdrop the movie is set in. Solid production design elevates the narration.
Jeyam Ravi is the most rugged you can get to see him and he does perform well. Priya Bhavani Shankar has little to do. Harish Uthgaman and Chirag Jani are decent. Technically the film is very good. Vivek Anand’s cinematography is impressive. Sam CS’s background score is good. Ganesh Kumar’s editing is OK. Dialogues are fine and direction is neat. AGILAN is a passable film.. AGILAN – AAKAM !!

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!! I still don't understand why Jayam Ravi is picking up these poor scripts with no value to them. Continuous flops and inability to pick up momentum amongst the other actors still leaves me wondering whether he is still fit for the film industry. BGM gets annoying after 20 mins into the film with random volume blasts which do not find its way to sync with the scenes. Dialogue doesn't make sense half the time. I have done yourselves a favour by sacrificing time and cinema ticket fees so I'd advice you guys to save some time and wait for the next blockbuster with some good script. Jaya Ravi please pick up a script that grasps the audience attention and leads to victory.

I expected better from Jayam Ravi. I don't know why he accepted the movie role. Poor plot and the songs could have better lyrics. It's just as if you tried to make lyrics that rhymed and didn't even take the surrounding into account. The starting where Kapoor is talking to soemone sending bodies to North Korea is like they tried to make it cool but failed. I get the movie is supposed to highlight the wrongness of illegal shipment but it isn't cutting it 5.
