We are a part of the divine God, therefore we are much more than our physical identities. We are part of an infinite powerhouse that controls the entire universe. That's why we are also endowed with infinite possibilities for development. The beautiful words of the Sufi saint Jalaluddin Rumi sum it up well: 'You were born with wings, so why crawl through life?
We all want to be always upbeat, full of inspiration, fearless, and sure to progress in life. Most of us place and express our faith in our physical strength, intellectual abilities, economic power, social relations, insurance policies for security, etc.
A favorite topic of most motivational speaker trainers is 'confidence'. A common saying in his lectures is: 'Until you gain confidence, pretend it to the world. Meaning is to portray a superficial image of being confident instead of imbibing the real quality of self-confidence.
Take inspiration from Sanatan Shastras for the foundation of unshakable confidence and fearlessness. In the Ramayana, Angad, a warrior in the monkey army of Sri Rama, did the unimaginable before the battle with Ravana. Angad was a courageous and heroic warrior.
Angad was chosen as the messenger of Lord Rama to be sent to Ravana's court. It is important for Ravana to apologize for the unforgivable crime he had committed against Mother Sita.
It was the last chance. Angad fearlessly entered the enemy's territory. Angad firmly believed that God's blessings were such a protective shield that even a mighty demon like Ravana could not break through.
When Ravana did not accept the message of peace, the enraged Angada struck the ground with such force that the blow caused a tremendous vibration and some of the crowns of the many-headed Ravana flew across the sea and fell at the feet of Sri Rama.
Next, Angad set his foot firmly on the ground and challenged everyone in Ravana's court that if anyone could lift his leg, it would be considered a victory in the war. No one in Ravana's court was able to move Angad's leg. After successfully completing his task, he returned from the sky and appeared at the lotus feet of Lord Rama.
There is a famous saying that faith can move mountains. The source of Angad's fearlessness and unparalleled self-confidence was his deep faith in the protection of Lord Rama. The Lord who resides in the heart of His selfless devotees strengthens them from within.
