One of the things that a person misses the most while traveling away from home to another city for his studies or job is a home-cooked nutritious food.  In, while exploring the possibilities of business, Karan Singh of Delhi started 'Langar.com'.  It is a portal that provides home-cooked food lovers with their favorite dish.  From housewives to food hobbyists have been included tuned to cook here.  The professionalism of this platform can be gauged from the fact that only that dish is made by the cook whose 'K' has the skill.  For example, if someone is proficient in making Chinese, then he is asked to make Chinese dishes only, no one else.  This portal, which provides delicious home-cooked food to the people, was started in February 2013 with the help of Tea Labs.

The information about every dish found in Hath Langar's kitchen is on its website.  There are around 200 dishes, whose price starts from Rs.60.  Chef Deepti, who has been working with Langar for about six months, says that she supplies food worth eight to ten thousand rupees in a month. 

Karaya Chief Hunt:-

 Karan was completely professional with his new business.  To select the best cooks, he did a chef hunt.  For its judgment, he approached famous chef Neeta Mehta.  He selected the best cooks for 'Langar'.  2000 cooks took part in this competition and out of these 50 cooks were selected.
 

How to order:-

 All the dishes have been given full details along with pictures of them on langar.com.  Along with the dishes, their price and the name and location of their chef have also been given.  By registering yourself on the site, choosing your favorite dish and ordering can be done.  Once the order is placed, a phone call is received to confirm it.  The food delivery facility is available for a distance of 5 km.
 

An experiment has done earlier:- 

Karan first tried an experiment to find business opportunities in home-cooked food.  He rented a stall at the food festival in Delhi.  They wanted to see if people like home-cooked food.  Here he got tremendous success.  About one thousand people had bought his home-cooked food and he earned 75 thousand rupees.  Encouraged by this success, Karan transformed it into a food service, which was named – Langar.
 

How did he get the idea:- 

Singh got this idea from his mother.  She used to make and sell biryani, parathas, and Sarson ka saag in her area.  This service of his was very famous and many women started working on the same lines.  It was from here that Singh got the idea that many housewives could prepare good food in their spare time and supply it to the students or other professionals.

While ordering a dish from langar.com, you do not order food for yourself only.  With every dish you order, one meal is donated to the needy.  In this way, you not only get food for yourself but also arrange food for any needy person.  In this way, food from langar.com brings good taste along with good feeling. 

 There are many challenges: - 

At present, the order of food on langar.com has to be placed a day in advance.  In such a situation, those people are not able to taste it, and order food an hour or two in advance.  Blogger and chef Sanjay Khullar, editor of Chef at Large, thinks it's a great idea.  In this, they recommend setting standards for the level of hygiene.  Many experts offer field delivery suggestions.  This is a good platform for home food lovers.
