Don't Let The Craze Of Good Habits Make You Sick.

 Being health conscious is a good thing, but as the saying goes 'ati sarvatra varjayate', sometimes when the urge to adopt good habits reaches the limit of eccentricity, it can cause harm to health instead of benefit.  Let us know, the opinion of well-known experts of the world about some such habits -

Every time hand sanitizer: - 

If you use sanitizer every time to wash your hands, then be alert.  Research suggests that using a hand sanitizer gel containing triclosan unnecessarily every time may make the antibiotic medication ineffective.  Richard Gallo, chief of the department of dermatology at the University of California, San Diego, says, "Unless you go to specific germ-affected areas, such as a hospital, washing hands with normal soap and water is sufficient.

New Skincare:- 

You must have seen advertisements for new skin care products for making the skin smooth, and fair, eradicating wrinkles, returning youth, etc.  Women are ahead in this case but say Jody Lekin, a senior dermatologist in New York City, frequent product changes can be a complication of adult rosacea.  The skin may become red, blotchy, and patchy.
 

Brush After Every Meal:- 

People who are more aware of oral health tend to brush after eating anything.  According to dentists, by doing this, the teeth can leave prematurely.  Eating food can keep acid on the teeth, which temporarily weakens the protective layer of the teeth, at which time brushing can destroy the enamel.  The best way to clean food particles stuck in the teeth or mouth is to rinse thoroughly with plain water after a meal. 

 Cleaning of the house:- 

It is a good thing to keep the house clean and germ-free.  But the use of antibacterial and disinfecting products in the matter can take a toll on your health.  Health experts believe that such cleansers may contain ingredients that trigger asthma or damage the skin.  Many chemicals can disturb the balance of hormones or even become the cause of life-threatening diseases like cancer.
 

Taking Nutrition Supplements Unnecessarily:-

 Many people start taking nutritional supplements out of their minds without understanding their physical needs.  If your regular diet is supplying everything and you are generally healthy, then taking vitamin and mineral tablets without a doctor's advice can prove to be injurious to health.
 

Excess vitamin A can cause harm to the unborn baby.  An overdose of vitamin C can cause abdominal distension and disturbances in glucose readings in patients taking diabetes medications.  Excessive consumption of B6 can lead to nerve damage.  Health scientists place more emphasis on fulfilling them through food.
