Breakfast is one of the most important meal of the day as it not only gets us moving but, also refills our glucose stores which have gone down due to overnight fasting. We take our breakfast for granted and often skip it due to hurry and our busy morning routine.

Here are some quick nutritious breakfast options so that, you never skip your breakfast.

Smoothies

Smoothies can be made in endless ways with a variety of ingredients. It's important to choose the right ingredients which are rich in proteins, fibers and healthy fat, and low in sugars.

Banana smoothie is one of the most preferred smoothie as it not only tasty but also keeps you full for a longer time.

Banana smoothie recipe:

  • 1 banana / 2 small bananas
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • ¼ cup water/milk
  • 1 scoop peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Ice
  • Honey (optional)

Sprouts salad

Sprouts are packed with proteins, especially for vegetarians.

  • 1 cup boiled sprouts (moong, chana, peanuts)
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 1 chopped cucumber
  • salt according to taste
  • ½ squeezed lemon juice
  • coriander for garnishing
  • mix everything well

Quinoa chickpea salad

This combination will make you fall in love with the idea of a salad. It is an excellent source of plant-based proteins for vegetarians. This recipe will keep you full for a longer time.

  • Boiled quinoa
  • Boiled chickpeas
  • Lemony dressing
  • Chopped cucumbers
  • chopped bell peppers
  • Olives
  • Cherry tomatoes

Oatmeal

It is a very popular breakfast option as it is very quick to make. Oats are packed with nutrients and fibers. It may also help in weight loss, lowering blood sugar levels, and reducing the risk of heart diseases. You just need some oats and a liquid (water or milk) to prepare oatmeal. Top it off with your favorite fruits, nuts, and some choco chips.

Scrambled eggs

Scrambled eggs are the fluffiest and creamiest breakfast option. 

  • Add eggs, milk, salt and pepper in a medium bowl and beat it until it is blended.
  • Melt butter in a non-stick pan over medium flame until hot.
  • Pour in egg mixture and as it begins to set, pull it across the pan with the help of a spatula so that it looks like a curd.
  • Keep on pulling and folding it until the mixture becomes thick and no liquid is seen.
  • Serve it hot with some toast and garnish it with some coriander.
