Simple recipe to make home made chocolate ice cream:
Ingredients: 2 cups Heavy cream, 1 cup Milk, 3/4 cup Sugar, 1/2 cup Cocoa powder, 4 Dark chocolate, 4 Egg yolks, Vanilla extract, Pinch of salt.
In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Whisk the mixture together over medium heat until it begins to steam. Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate melts and the mixture becomes smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until they become slightly thickened. Slowly pour about 1/2 cup of the warm chocolate mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly. This will temper the eggs and prevent them from curdling.
Pour the tempered egg mixture back into the saucepan with the remaining chocolate mixture. Return the saucepan to medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Do not let it boil.
Remove the mixture from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until it's thoroughly chilled.
Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes, or until the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Transfer the churned ice cream into a lidded container and freeze for an additional 2-4 hours, or until it reaches the desired firmness.
Serve it in bowls or cones, and feel free to add your favorite toppings like chocolate sauce, whipped cream, or sprinkles.
