As you read the title it is based on true story and I am the victim. Residential schools are always fun, everyday something weird and fun will always happen. I enjoyed my stay in my residential school and learned a lot of life skills. I got to experience lots of things and got to witnessed lots of things which I meant to take it to my grave.
We were all preparing for class 12 board exam and was stressed, tired and just bored of our daily routine of sleep, eat and study. We were given 1 month of study leave and all I remember is just sleeping. We were told to study but we spend half of our day sleeping. We were not allowed to go out but was allowed during afternoon for 1 hour from 3pm to 4 pm. We enjoyed our 1 hour of outing just talking about hoke, friends and family.
On this auspicious day, which was 2 or 3 weeks before board exams, me and my other 3 friends were exceptionally bored, I do not remember who but one of my friends said come let's make a very crazy memory, we have not taken bath so let's play water fight was what she suggested. So, we took our brackets and went to our dormitory bathroom and started playing. We were all having fun, laughing, screaming and playing. I do not remember but I remember suddenly running and I slipped. As I was falling I remember that a voice keep on ringing in my mind that if I keep falling like that I'll break my neck so to save my neck I put my right hand over my head and I fell right on that hand. It was painful but at that moment I did not feel anything but my friends was worried so we stopped playing and we all bathe changed, went for our afternoon snacks and outing. But as time went by my pain started increasing and my hand started swelling and it was increasing in size gradually. So after our afternoon outing my pain started becoming unbearable, just before our study hour I told our warden about the incident and she saw my hand and was really worried so we directly went to a clinic, got an x-ray during this time my warden kept on saying that do not worry everything will be fine but I on the other hand was not worried even though my exams were just few weeks away. After my x-ray result was out, the doctor said that there are no broken bone, but sprain. My warden pass a sigh if relief, he prescribed me some painkiller and an elbow supporter. By now my whole right hand was swollen, my friends were worried and for the next few weeks they helped me with food, washing my clothes, hair and almost everything. I called my parents narrating the story but I omitted that we were playing in the bathroom because I know they will scold me, they we extremely worried but my warden reassured them that everything will be okay. Just like that the day of board exam came and by this time my elbow swelling has slightly decreased but it was still difficult to bend so for first few exams I write my exam with straight hand, one of the exam invigilator asked me if I need help and I declined just because I just wanted to get the exam over fast. That was how I gave my first few days of exam and by the end my hand got better but I could not write fast I had to write really slowly.
I am grateful for my friends and warden for helping me during my difficult times and giving such fun memory. It was a painful experience but yet it was fun and I still tell my new friends about it.
