While growing up I never knew nor noticed how difficult it is to dry our clothes during rainy seasons and winter. My mother and our helper would always do everything just that we used to help out here and there in small task. Even when we were kids our parents would always make us do our own task like cleaning our own room, washing our own clothes and even our own dishes after we finished our meal. Eventhough we could not do it properly my mother would always make us do it, just so we would learn it own our own and I thank her for making us do it as I did not need to struggle when I entered hostel.
But after washing our own clothes we would just hang it outside and when it rains we would help each other in taking it in after that we would not care whether it is dried or not. Our mother would always take it in and dry it under the fan or on the heater just so our clothes would get dry early before it start smelling.
Now that I am an adult, I still live with my parents, but I help around because my mother's health is deteriorating. Trying to dry clothes under the fan is quite difficult as we need to check it after sometime and turn it over so that the both side gets dry quickly otherwise the clothes will start to smell. If the clothes are not dried properly on both side it not only smell but a small black pigmentation also would start forming.
Drying hanger would not be enough to dry all the clothes, we would need to use lots of chairs too and if clothes are not hanged in good position it would fall and it would not dry at all making one space go to waste. The most difficult times was when it starts getting cold and we would start wearing thick clothes which would take a very long time to dry when washed and it would start stinking and even after washing and adding fabric softener the smell would not go.
I remember when we were kids there were no such thing as fabric softener like comfort so our clothes would only be a smell of detergent which makes it more vulnerable to smell.
Rainy season bring pleasant weather but our clothes are not ready for no sun days.
