Rahul Dravid, former Indian cricket team captain who has scored nearly 25,000 runs in international cricket played 11 one-day international matches for the Scotland national team as a marquee overseas player and scored 600 runs at an average excess of 60.

After the world cup 2003, some players in the Indian team were given from International cricket. At the same time, the Scotland cricket team was promoted to the second division of the National Cricket league. The head of the sport in Scotland needed an Indian specialist batsman to play as a marquee player for Scotland to increase the confidence of the Scotland cricketers.

But John Wright advised him "The person who is going to do things for you, on and off the pitch, is Rahul Dravid". And allowed Rahul Dravid to play for the Scotland cricket team for 3 months.
In 2003, the 30-year-old Dravid guided and shared experienced with the cricketers of the Scotland team. He 11 out of 12 games and scored 600 runs with an average of 66.66. But Scotland was able to win only one game out of 12 ODI's. Even though 2003 had been a mentally and physically tough phase for Dravid, in his own words, the challenge of rubbing shoulders with youngsters, passing on his invaluable experiences and memories to a pool of people, made him commit to this cause.
