INTRODUCTION

In 2012 saw the release of 1920: The Evil Returns, an Indian horror film directed by Bhushan Patel and written in Hindi by Vikram Bhatt. The movie, which is a sort of sequel to the 2008 film 1920,[3] second of the 1920 (film series), features Sharad Kelkar, Tia Bajpai, Aftab Shivdasani, and Vidya Malvade in the key parts.*[4] The film is the third in a string of quasi-sequels produced by Bhatt Banner, which also includes Raaz – The Mystery Continues, Murder 2, Jism 2, Jannat 2, and Raaz 3D. All of these films were unrelated to their respective prequels but managed to fit into the same genre by telling stories that were somewhat similar. September 28, 2012, saw the release of the trailer. With the exception of Skyfall (270 million Net.), the movie did better at its opening Box Office weekend (122.7 million Net.) than any other release that week, following its November 2, 2012, release to a mixed critical reception.(5) U In collaboration with Ami Shah of IntelliAssist, the company that handled the movie's social media marketing, Dinesh Kumar, a professor at IIM Bangalore, and his team evaluated online initiatives and campaigns using a case study that was subsequently released by Harvard Business Publishing.

PLOT

Famous poet Jaidev Verma leads a solitary life in 1920 after failing to find his true love, Smriti. Through letter exchanges, they got to know one another and eventually fell in love. One day, Jaidev finds out through a letter that Smriti passed away in an accident. These days, the only person who can motivate him is his sister Karuna. Jaidev brings home a girl who is unconscious that he finds near a lake one day. She is unable to recall anything from her previous life other than Jaidev's poetry after regaining consciousness. When the cemetery caretaker alerts them to an impending danger, Karuna grows even more dubious about her presence in the home.

Jaidev is adamant about keeping her at home because he is bonded to her. She has Sangeeta as her name. Sangeeta experiences terrifying hallucinations, regurgitating iron nails, and seeing ghosts in her room. Sangeeta is fully taken over by the ghost while they are traveling to see a doctor. The cemetery keeper is the only person Jaidev can hope to save her. Jaidev gradually realizes that Sangeeta is really his long-lost love, Smriti. To discover the reality, he visits Smriti's previous residence. He finds out that Karuna had visited there previously to inquire about Smriti. When Jaidev gets home, he discovers suicide notes scattered around Karuna's body, which is hanging in the forest. He finds out from Karuna's letters that his best friend Amar, who was jealous of Jaidev's success, took advantage of Karuna to exact revenge on him. Amar went to Smriti and pretended to be Jaidev when he learned that she was in love with him. He took her to his house in Shimla so he could take advantage of her, but in the process, he was killed. Smriti is currently under the influence of his spirit.

Jaidev receives a warning from the cemetery caretaker that the spirit is very vindictive and must be trickily transported to Amar's home in Shimla, where everything took place. Amar's spirit must depart from Smriti's body and return to his own once Smriti touches Amar's corpse. At that point, the corpse can be burned to free Amar's spirit from the cycle of life and death. Smriti must remain unaware of her whereabouts during this process, or else the spirit will be aware as well. Smriti is thus rendered unconscious and covered entirely in a sacred cloth. When they arrive at the correct location, the cemetery caretaker stumbles, causing the holy cloth to shift away from Smriti's face and igniting the spirit. Smriti kills everyone except for Jaidev.

In the struggle with the spirit, Jaidev sustains serious injuries. After burning Amar's corpse, Smriti's spirit stays in her body forever. Since it would be pointless to allow Jaidev to live if the spirit takes Smriti away from him, he cries out ineffectually for the spirit to kill him. Refusing, Amar's spirit states that this is precisely what he desired—Jaidev's suffering. When Jaidev breaks a rope that is fastened to a loft in the ceiling, a corpse drops from the ceiling and touches Smriti. A flashback reveals that Jaidev and the others had taken precautions and concealed Amar's actual corpse in the ceiling. As Amar is compelled to return to his original body, the corpse comes to life. Amar's corpse becomes enraged and attempts to murder Smriti, but Jaidev intervenes to save her and sets Amar's corpse on fire, freeing Amar's spirit from the cycle of life and death. The movie concludes with Jaidev and Smriti consummating their marriage after the reconcile and get married.
