Review Of The Movie Rudhran: This Reunion Between Raghava Lawrence And Sarathkumar Is A Blow To Our Senses.

Rudhran is a good revenge action movie with good stunts and heartfelt hardcore sentiments that would have worked if it had come out a few decades ago. It is actually unbelievable that we have a film that does exactly what hundreds of films have done for eons now in Tamil cinema, where taking revenge for the death of every possible relative is done and dusted, and where John Wick is slaying a town's worth of people to avenge the death of his dog. Of course, our hero's motive for the deaths he must avenge is novel; however, the question of whether this trivial novelty is worth a movie is a different one, and the film tries to answer it positively but fails.
There are numerous films that Rudhran will bring to mind. One of Rudhran's first scenes is an action sequence in which our titular hero, played by Raghava Lawrence, decimates a gang of goons who are chasing after a woman in keeping with tradition, taking a page from Rajinikanth's two recent duds, Darbar and Annaatthe. A figure emerges from the shadows a few hundred meters away, and the main goon is sent flying within a millisecond after the henchmen have batted their eyelids once. Is that the avan?” screams a liar, and another man responds, "Rudhran da," before you can even begin to imagine the comedic punchline. This levelness is likely the main reliable piece of the film and you realize a film is terrible when you begin thinking often about the portrayal of a lot of trouble makers.

Despite being played by Sarathkumar, a seasoned actor, the antagonist character in Rudhran is written so poorly that it fails to impress me. The last time he collaborated with Lawrence, we got Muni 2: Kanchana and however it wasn't basically a disclosure of any kind, it was a colossal achievement and respawned the Muni establishment as the Kanchana series. However, Sarath is reduced to a one-dimensional character in this instance, who appears to have walked in straight from Varisu's sets, complete with Rolls-Royce and dapper attire. All through the principal a portion of, all he does is visit the spots transformed into crime locations by Rudhran to respond to the slaughter our legend has made. Apart from the ghosts, Rudhran is just another Kanchana film with a happy hero, a greedy villain, a final showdown at a temple, and a message about those who are exploited by society.
