Chapter 1 Continuation..,

Albus Dumbledore didn't appear to understand that he had just entered a neighborhood where everything, from his name to his boots, was considered offensive.

He was actively searching his cloak for something.  However, he appeared to be aware that he was being observed because he immediately turned to face the cat, which was still glaring at him from the opposite end of the street.

He appeared to find the sight of the cat amusing for some reason. He said with a smile, “I should have known.”

In his inside pocket, he discovered what he was seeking for. It appeared to be a silver lighter for cigarettes. He held it up in the air, flipped it open, and clicked it.

The nearby street lamp abruptly went out with a pop. He pressed it once more, and the subsequent lamp flickered out and went out.

He used the Put-Outer twelve times till the only lights on the entire street were two small pinpricks in the distance that represented the cat's eyes observing him.

Even the beady-eyed Mrs. Dursley couldn't notice anything occurring on the street if she peered out of her window right now.

As he walked down the street toward number 4, where he sat down on the wall next to the cat, Dumbledore tucked the Put-Outer back inside his cloak. Without giving it a glance, he talked to it after a little interval.

“Fancy seeing you here, Professor McGonagall.”

When he turned to face the tabby, it was gone. Instead, he was grinning at a woman who had a serious appearance and was sporting square spectacles that matched the cat's eye markings completely.

She too was covered in an emerald cloak. Her black hair was tightly bunched up. She had a really agitated appearance.

She said, “How did you know it was me?”

“My dear Professor, I 've never seen a cat sit so stiffly.”

Professor McGonagall said, “You'd be stiff if you'd been sitting on a brick wall all day.”

“Whole day? when you might have been having a party? On my way here, I must have passed at least a dozen feasts and gatherings.” The professor wheezed fiercely.

She responded angrily, "Oh sure, everyone's rejoicing, all right.
You'd think they'd be a little more cautious, but apparently not; even Muggles have realized something is off.

It appeared on their news. She turned her head back to the window of the Dursleys' dim living room.I could hear it. owl flocks, shooting stars, etc. They're not entirely foolish, though.

They had to have noticed something. Shooting stars above Kent? I'll bet Dedalus Diggle was responsible. He was never very intelligent.
