U – 571 (2000) | Intimidating captain leadership
U-571
During World War II (1941), the US tries to capture the German 'Enigma' telegraph device that transmits hymns. What ultimately happened is the story of U-571.
Spoiler alert
The interesting twists and turns of the story are not mentioned in the review but I have mentioned some scenes as they will be understood while watching the film.
Disagreements can be bypassed.
U-571
German U-Boats destroy hundreds of ships belonging to the US, British, and Allied forces.
With the help of an Enigma device, Germany transmits messages in cryptic words, so they cannot decipher it.
In this case, the US receives the information that the German submarine is broken and they send it to the leadership asking for help.
Thus, the German submarine designs with markings and sends German-speaking American soldiers to trick them into capturing the submarine and taking the device.
They are joined by other soldiers as planned, before the arrival of German reinforcements.
Just when everything is going well, an unexpected problem occurs.
Did Tyler, who takes on the role of captain in a very difficult situation, get hold of the device? What happened to everyone? They have described it with horror stories.
Tyler
It can easily be passed off as a war film, but the subject of management has been beautifully told.
Tyler is supposed to captain the American submarine, and in a last-minute change, Mike Dahlgren is named captain.
Tyler takes command of the leadership, shocking his teammates who expected him to be the captain.
Captain Mike Dahl talking to Tyler in between…
Don't be nice to everyone
No one in charge can be good to everyone. If he wants to be like that, he cannot be responsible.
If some decision hurts some but benefits the majority, then even a difficult decision must be implemented.
Innocent lives may also be affected by the decision taken but in such a situation a brave decision must be taken to save the country.
If you hesitate in the mental confusion that one innocent person is being harmed, many lives can be harmed. So, now is not the time to look at sentiments.
The film explains that the decision taken in such a situation may go wrong but one should not stay awake saying 'I don't know what to do'.
A must watch movie for those who lead a team. Best illustrates how important results are.
Don't say 'I don't know'. You just have to say whether it is possible or not. The idea of the film is Do or Die.
I recommend everyone to watch U – 571. Available on NETFLIX.
