My First Baking Experience

Hey readers, hope you're all keeping safe and having a good time. In my first blog, I'd like to share my experience of baking as a fifteen year old. My mother really likes keeping her kitchen clean, just like everybody else's. So when I asked her I want to bake cookies, she yelled at me and asked me to get them from a bakery and eat. But I really wanted to make them on my own, to try a recipe, to experiment, to actually do something creative. I asked my father and he gave a green signal. But mummy was still pissed, I thought I'd do it when she's asleep but no, I couldn't and I thought I'll convince her for the same. I had to beg a lot and finally, she permitted me. I had the apron on, followed the steps, got the microwave tray ready, baked some beautiful butter cookies. The aroma of the freshly baked cookies filled my nose and the kitchen.

The process wasn't very difficult,  neither were the cookies very fancy, but they turned out good and tasted delicious. It had normal ingredients like refined flour, vanilla essence, butter, sugar, etc. The procedure involved whisking some butter until it's creamy, adding eggs. Dry ingredients were to be prepared separately, like mixture of flour and sugar, sieved. Mixing the dry and wet ingredients well, making a soft dough, making round balls with hands. Flattering them and giving them different shapes and finally baking them. I remember I was all smiles throughout. I asked my parents to taste them and they really liked them. From then on, I've started baking, not very often but yes, I do. I baked a chocolate cake for my parents' anniversary, which turned out okay but it didnt have a good shape, it tasted amazing though. I made a frosting too for it. I've made muffins a few times, garlic bread, baked pasta as well. The pasta was very decent. Nothing too great. I also made choco chip cookies which were yummy and of course, better than the previous ones. Everytime I tried making something for the first time, I had a great experience, I learnt various things and it made me happy. I don't think I'm a great baker yet, but if I keep baking, I surely will be one day!
