Shravan month is considered to be one of the holiest months of the year as per the Hindu calendar. It is the fifth month of the Hindu calendar. It starts at the end of July and ends in the third week of August. This month is also is 2nd Month of the rainy season. But why this month called Shravan. It is believed that on Poornima full moon day at any time during this month. The Shravan stars rule the sky hence this month's name from this star. Each Monday is celebrated in Shravan Month across all temples with all the Dharanantra hanging from the Shivalinga bathing with its water and milk throughout the day into the night. Devotees offer beel leaves, holy water, and milk to Lord Shiva. On every Shravan Monday they fast until the sun goes down the Akhand Diya burns throughout the day.

The story describes how the 14 kinds of things come churning process. The halahal was one of them one of the most deadly poison since none of Gods and demons were ready to take it. It is also believed that prayer is sung in this month gets a double effect as Lord pleased during this month.
