Despite of numerous goodwill gestures , China has been recognising India as it's adversary.
After the Galwan incident , it is quite noticeable that New Delhi has changed its strategy against China. Before becoming Prime minister , Narendra Modi was very close to Dalai Lama. He used to visit him frequently. But after 2014 , neither he met him nor spoke to him officially. If they did then it was unofficial.
Few days back on 6th July , on the occasion of birthday of Dalai Lama , Indian PM Modi spoke to him and wished him a warm birthday. Surprisingly PM Modi tweeted about it. It was the first official interaction between PM Modi and Dalai Lama since 2014. By doing this , india opens thier Tibbet card and Sent a firm message to Beijing.
In another move, government of India gives nod for 5G trials and Chinese company βHuaweiβ is not on the list approved by Govt.
India is a Democracy. It has freedom of speech and freedom of movement. India as the biggest democracy in the world should know it's responsibilities to talk about democracy in other places too. India should be concerned about Media censorship, uighurs human rights issues, crackdown on Pro-democracy activists and critics of Chinese communist party and China's aggression towards neighbouring countries in South China sea.
In my opinion New Delhi should opt for more assertive, penetrative and aggressive foreign policy against China. These are some steps, government of India must take -
