Immunization is a way to create immunity to fight diseases caused by some microbes.Safe and effective vaccinations are necessary to safeguard all human lives from preventable diseases.Vaccines reduce the risks of getting a disease by working with your body's natural defenses to build protection. It can be done with the help of vaccines.

When you get a vaccine, your immune system responds.Immunity is a body system that helps us fight  off sickness.Vaccines are among the greatest advances in global health and development.Today, vaccines are estimated to be one of the most cost-effective means of advancing national welfare.A large scale program of providing vaccines to human beings to increase their immunity is called vaccination.

Debunking Common Myths About Vaccines and Immunization

We can vaccinated at any age but most vaccines are given in child stage.People receive different vaccines from infant to their sixth birthday at different stages.Vaccines stimulate the body's immune system to protect the person against  infection or disease. Most vaccines are given by needle but some are given by mouth or sprayed into the nose.

How do vaccines work

Vaccines contain the same germ that causes disease. But the germs in the vaccine have been killed or weakened so that they do not make you sick.In fact,it helps our body protect itself fro getting sick from that microbe in the future. Some vaccines contain only a part of the germ that causes disease.

When you get immunized, your body is tricked into thinking that it has been infected with the disease. It makes antibodies that kill the germs. These antibodies stay remain in your body for a long time and remember how to fight the germ. If the germs enter your body in the future, the antibodies  fight against with germs and destroy the germs before you can become sick.   It is very important  to get a vaccine than the disease.

 Vaccine - Wikipedia

Most people are fully protected against the disease after getting vaccinated. In rare cases, people who are immunized can still get the disease because they only get partial protection from the vaccine. This is more common in people with medical conditions that affect the immune system. Even though these people may still get the disease, they will most likely get a milder sickness and not suffer serious complications. Small box vaccine was the first vaccine that was developed. Before this vaccine , smallpox killed millions of people.Today with the help of vaccination we have almost gotten rid of this disease.

Universal immunization  is one of the largest public health programmes. It is one of the most cost-effective public health interventions.
