Vitamins are the most important for our body health. Many diseases in our body due to vitamin deficiency create many problems in our health and body.

The term vitamin wasintroduced by Funk in 1912. vitamins are accessory food factor play vital role in growth, nutrition and metabolic process.

vitamin are two types-:

Fat soluble-: Vitamin A, D, E & K

Water soluble-: Vitamin B & C.

Folic acid is essential for maturation of RBC (Red Blood Corpuscles)

let's know about the vitamins, their deficiency disease & their source 

Vitamin A-: Vitamin A is known as retinol 

Deficiency diseases-: Its deficiency creates night blindness, growth failure, xerophthalmia.

Note-: Xerophthalmia in which the eye fails to produce tear which caused by vitamin A deficiency.

Source-: Liver is a rich source of vitamin A, other than milk, carrot, papaya, mango, etc.

Vitamin B1-: Vitamin B1 is known as thiamine.

Deficiency diseases-: beriberi creates a disturbance in the digestive system.

Source-: Rice polishing, leafy vegetables, fish, egg, meat, etc.

Vitamin B2-: vitamin B2 is known as riboflavin.

Deficiency diseases-: Photophobia, inflamed lips, cracks on the skin known as ariboflavinosis

Source-: milk powder, fish, pulses

Vitamin B5-: It is known as niacin or nicotinamide.

Source-: fortified cereals, avocado, nuts, milk, etc.

Deficiency diseases-: pellagra/ black tongue

Vitamin B6-: It is known as Pyridoxin.

Deficiency diseases-: Degeneration of nerves.

Source-: yeast, wheat germ, legumes, etc.

Vitamin B12-: It is known as cobalamine.

Deficiency diseases-: Pernicious anemia

Source-: Animal food( liver, meat, fish, egg)

Vitamin C-: It is known as ascorbic acid

Deficiency diseases-: Scurvy in this soft tissue around the joints become swollen and painful

Source-: Aonla, guava, citrus fruits

Vitamin D-: it known as calciferol.

Deficiency diseases-: rickets (bone deformation), pigeon chest majorly in children, and osteomalacia(softening of bones) in adults

Source-: sunlight, fish & liver oil

Vitamin E-: it is known as Tocopherol.

Deficiency diseases-: Sterility (reproduction failure)

Source-: outer layer of grains

Vitamin H-: It is known as Biotin.

Deficiency diseases-: Dermatitis( skin inflammation)

Source-: legumes, cooked egg, soybeans, banana, nuts, etc.

Vitamin K-: it is known as Phylloquinone

Deficiency diseases-: Delay in clotting

Source-: Cauliflower, liver, soybean

Vitamin B9-: Known as folic acid

Deficiency diseases-: Anemia(lack of red blood cell)

Source-: beans, peanuts, whole grains, liver, seafoods,
