Thriller film means ghost film or crime film. It is a science fiction film with a difference. Even though it is an unimaginable concept, director Balasubramani has moved the film excitingly and briskly
Vasant (Jeeva), who works in a software company, is newly married with his wife Aranya (Priya Bhavani Shankar).
He goes on holiday to a beach villa he has bought. In the uninhabited, terraced villa, some paranormal things are going on.
Even though they are unable to escape from there, both of them are wandering around there. They are shocked to see another couple like them there. Can they escape from there? 'Block' is to explain what those occults are. Although it is a remake of the Hollywood film 'Coherence', some changes have been made for Tamil. 60 years ago, on the day of the full moon (Supermoon) approaching the earth, a terrifying incident happens. Similarly Ati
The film talks about what is going to happen on the full moon day, which is still a sacred event.
The story starts in 1964, the scenes going before and after in the present create anticipation. The gift of a painting to a nobody's house, the sudden presence of a couple just like them in the opposite house, the two Vasant's head-on collision, the transition of time when the two cross the 'block' area, brings you to the edge of your seat with excitement and Balasubramani's directionScreenplay too.But it is a big challenge to understand what Vivek Prasanna explains by talking about many theories like Bermuda Triangle, Quantum Physics, Parallel Reality and the things behind these occults. Also, it creates confusion for the audience.
Even when he is angry and shocked by the paranormal and struggling to explain what happened to the police, Jeeva gives a great performance. Priya Bhavani Shankar has acted as Gathabadi Rath as a feeling of stumbling in fear and anger at Jiva who does not listen to what is said. Yog JP, who appears as a policeman, and Vivek Prasanna, who appears only in two or three scenes, are also noteworthy.
Sam CS has worked hard to give the effect of the thriller in the background score. Song scenes are unnecessary padding. Gokul Binoy's cinematography delivers the nocturnal horror perfectly. Philomin Raj's cinematography has tried to make it interesting since two characters are the whole film. However, if the subject of 'Supermoon' was explained simply, this 'block' could have been enjoyed more.
