Blogging: What You Need To Know To Start A Blog

We're back with another blogging and web design interview series, this time we'll talk with Chris. Chris is a creative professional who focuses on graphic design, website development, and typeface design. He has a specialty in creating typefaces in unconventional font weights. When did you start blogging and how did you end up choosing that as a medium? I started blogging in March 2012 after I signed up for a blog writing course at my local library. The courses are free to attend if you have a library card, which I do because it's my job. I had no experience as a blogger so I asked the teacher, who asked some of her friends who gave me a few suggestions on what to write about.

What is a blog?

Why should you start a blog? How do I get started? Where can I find awesome blogs? What is a blog? A blog is basically a digital journal/blog. This can be a diary, a hobby, a website, or anything. It can also be a place for other people to express themselves. I blog mostly about books because I’m an author, but that’s not why I do it. I started a blog because I realized I wasn’t reading nearly as many books as I should be. I saw some other blogs, so I figured I’d give it a try. Why should you start a blog? It’s fun. I get to connect with new people, share things, and have fun. I have found that a blog can be extremely helpful when it comes to promotion, reviewing, and reaching people. When you put up links on your blog, you can create community with your readers and other authors.

Why to start a blog?

Many people believe that it is a huge investment of time and money to start a blog. While there is certainly the opportunity to earn a considerable income through blogging, it is by no means a foolproof strategy. You could lose money and time without having to do anything extra. Also, do not forget that you are not in control of the return you get. In fact, the exact opposite is true – blogs are unpredictable and can change from one minute to the next. While the income is one thing to consider, it is also necessary to consider the time you need to commit. Most new bloggers are not interested in long periods of daily blogging, but it could become part of the lifestyle if you enjoy it and it satisfies your needs. What type of blogs are available?

Do you need an author platform?

This question might be pretty basic, but it’s still a valid one. Unless you’ve got a big following, your first blog posts and reviews are going to be the most important and, often, the most difficult to write. That’s why having a good platform to build on early is crucial. As a new writer, building your author platform is going to take a lot of effort and dedication, but it’s something you absolutely need to do if you want to get more books published. Here’s everything you need to know about blogging, including the platforms to use and how to get the traffic you need to start making an income. What You Need To Know About Blogging 1. The #1 Platform You Need Is… A good platform to build on early on is a social media platform.

How to start a blog?

If you are keen to start your own blog, you might want to take a look at these tips. You could be a blogging pro in no time. Firstly, you need to find a niche. It might be hard to go off on your own, and start up your own blog. So here is a great way to branch out and try something different. Focus on one particular subject Choose a niche that is really special and unique. Think about what you love and hate, and your interests. If you have a passion for it, you will be able to easily come up with something amazing to share with the world. You need to love what you are writing about This sounds obvious, but you really need to be passionate about blogging. If you have no interest in it, or you find it boring and difficult, your blog is going to suffer.

Pros and cons of blogging

Cons of blogging 3. Step 4 – Designing your website Of course, blogging is not as easy as the easy to master applications like WordPress. There are plenty of tools out there like Squarespace.com, or Shopify.com, and to do it yourself is time-consuming, expensive, and sometimes impossible, considering the number of people who use these services to build their own online business. These services help you design, develop, and publish websites that can be customized according to your tastes and preferences. Cons of doing it yourself Buying a basic design can be an expensive endeavour, if you do not have the money for it. Your blog will cost a considerable amount of money to launch, and even the cheapest blog service can cost you several hundred dollars.

Conclusion

A lot of people these days think that creating content is the most essential and important part of blogging, in the first place, we’re talking about getting started. And what’s interesting is that a lot of bloggers have never published one piece of content. The point is, you need to start something at first.
