Hello and welcome back to you all i hope you are doing good and today i am going to tell you all the recipe of famous Gujarati dish yellow dhokla. This is usually a dish from which many Gujarati's are identified as.

Starting with the ingredients

We need.

  • Corn flour.
  • Cooking soda.
  • Eno (blue preferably).
  • Salt
  • Sugar.
  • Neem leaves.
  • Oil
  • Turmeric.
  • Lemon.
  • Coriander.
  • Sugar water
  • Green chillies
  • Mustard seeds

Let's start with the process.

It is preferable to use a idli making cooker. Which have dhokla making moulds.

Step 1

Start by taking flour in a bowl add a little water and start stirring. Keep stirring and simultaneously keep adding water to make the bater liquidy.

Step 2

While stirring add cooking soda, one packet of eno, squeeze half lemon, and Turmeric. A nice yellowish liquidy bater can be seen. For better results keep the batter aside for 20 minutes.

Step 3

After that take the mould greece it with oil so that the dhokla don't stick to them. After greecing with oil heat it in the cooker for one-two minutes. Then slowly pour the batter in the mould and let it be cooked for 20 minutes.

Step 4.

By the time the dhokla batter is cooked you can prepare for tadka.

Before starting with the tadka make sure you have sugar water prepared. Which is very easy to make. Take water add sugar and let it dissolve.

Step 5

Take oil in another pan heat it. After the oil is heated enough quickly lower the flame add a spoon of mustard seeds, neem leaves, two green chillies chopped and let it be in the oil for 30 seconds or so.

Step 6

Then add this tadka in the sugar water and keep it aside until the bater is cooked.

After 20 minutes the dhokla bater is cooked and ready for tadka.

Cut the bater in squares and then pour the tadka on the dhokla.

Here your yummy spongy dhokla is ready. You can serve this tasty dish with green chilli chutney. Which is also very easy to make.

Please let me know if you want to know the details of if that too. I will come up with q blog on how to make different kinds of chutney.

That's it guys thanks for staying up till the end and will be back with something new soon till then take care and stay safe.
