Our Old Citizens Are Not Happy Today...

They are outdated”, “they are old”, “look at their weird dressing sense”, “we don't get space because of them”, “they are a bulk for us now”, these are some of the sentences that we generally hear for our old citizens in present times.

Today's generation is advancing rapidly in every field, advancing in technology, in infrastructure, in artificial intelligence, in luxury but is lacking behind in manners, giving respect and valuing people. Truly saying we are lacking the potential and ignoring our responsibility of taking care of our old people. They can be our grandparents who live with us, the old people who are left to reside in old age homes and also those old people who don't even have a shelter to hide and we see them often roaming around and struggling for food and water.

The quality of life for elderly Index is released  by Chairman of Economic Advisory  Council to the Prime Minister. Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Chandigarh top this list. If we talk about India's position in this list on international level is very poor.

The old people living here are not happy here. Why is this happening? Where are we lacking in teaching values to our younger generation. We, the young people are ignoring our old people, we don't listen to them what they share, we don't sit beside them and share our feelings. We don't accept the fact that they are more experienced and understand this world far better than us. We avoid them and the very common thing that we observe today is that people send their old parents to old age homes. If they are lucky they get better treatment there but life is not fair to everyone. We also see old people left out by their children, working hard at this age for survival. My eyes get full of tears when I see such scenes. I see old man and women selling vegetables and fruits, selling pens on traffic signals and all those harsh labours at this age which their body can't . I just wish I could help them anyhow.

I would everyone of you reading this blog that never ever leave your old people, always try your best to keep them happy because there experience will make your life easy. Their blessings will keep you happy and help you lead a beautiful life. So take care of your old people.

Thankuh❤️
