Today nuclear families are increasing at a rapid pace. There are so many reasons why this is happening at such a great level.  Lets find out the most happening causes behind such type of change in the societal structure.

Youngsters want to discover and explore their lives

Today every youngster want to discover their possibilities and potential by themselves. They no more want their parents business to be their dream or they do not want to get enrolled in a job shown by their parents. They want to achieve it all by themselves. So in order to do this, they have to get out of their house and explore by themselves. Some can manage being with their parents but many of the youngsters have to leave their parents house to follow their dream. So this is good or bad, that's a different question. But this is what is happening  nowadays. Before the mentality of the youngsters were different. They would get into their parents business or get a job and be half dependent on their parents. So that was a mutual adjustment which led them together. Today the understanding is different and youngsters do not want to depend on their parents. So changes are coming into the society which is leading to nuclear families.

Adjustment in a family

Many a times, it has been found that there is no adjustment between the in-laws and the son and daughter-in-law. This is the most common problem in Indian families . This is the major reason for nuclear families. From Bachchans to Ambanis or any regular middle class family, the scene is the same. But what is the reason?? 

One common reason is generation gap as we might term it. And the inlaws nowadays are very open to break the families into nuclear ones. Before it used to be different. There was a social pressure and each one of the family used to be dependent on each other and there was an understanding in that respect. 

But today the father-in-law, mother-in-law, son and daughter all are having their own jobs and they have their own ideas to share. But they lack the respect towards each other's opinion. So families break up.

We often put the blame on the daughter-in-law and the son that they are not taking care of their old parents and living in a separate house.

But don't they themselves have any fault. Just because they are old, they cannot gather sympathy in the wrong way. This is very common  in Indian families . A daughter in law has no right to speak up her heart and elders should be respected….that's what stands out to be the reason behind most of the splits from the big joint families to nuclear families.

Job posting

Sometimes the sons of the family gets their job posting in different states or different countries. Its a very common thing these days. The parents do not want to leave their own houses and go with their sons to a different surrounding . So the son is married off and sent to different places. That's very common in our society nowadays.

Parents mentality

Most of the times, parents are actively participating in the rat race of sending their children abroad. They want to sound and appear most significant in the society so what they do is send their children abroad and  and get them settled their. These parents want to get a sophisticated position in the society. Sometimes the children get posted themselves by their own potential, that's a different matter altogether. Those parents do not want to send their children abroad even if they posses the potential.
