The basic things that a school should teach are mostly known by us but today I would like to share certain points that would definitely help us to focus on the objective that a school should teach.

I am not so aware about other countries but in India there are mostly schools that teach different subjects like maths, science, arts and physical education and some other subjects as well.

There are so many states in India with different language and different cultural traits and traditions. These are our unique cultural things that are unique in particular states in India. So we need to focus on those cultural aspects so that the traditions and our culture is celebrated through the education system in India. 

If an education system do not take initiative to teach the importance of our cultural diversity in India and do not teach those significances then today the society in India is not so much learned about our traditions and culture . Thats because people are global now. They do not stick to Indian culture only. There are multinational companies and private companies where people learn about different countries cultural traits so when these employees discuss those diverse culture around the world to their children going to school, those children can understand the diverse culture around the world as a whole. 

So to define Indian culture and the uniqueness of this culture the schools should take initiative and the regional languages in our nation should be taught well. Schools only focus on English and in some states they focus on regional languages but I don't think that's good for our nation.

If our Indian regional languages are not well and the literature and the scripts of the particular states are not given importance by our schools then in no time the Indian culture will be an extinct culture. 

If we only learn what's important for getting a job in a school, and forget about our own cultural benefits and traditions then only the job will us money to buy food and we will remain clueless about what to do in life apart from job.

A life cannot comprise of only earning and eating food and sleeping .

This is not the process of an all round happy life of a person. A life requires a rich culture to provide a background for its survival. So if those cultural backgrounds are not provided by our society then how can a person lead a happy and beautiful life?

So the main purpose of a school should be to teach the most important things for a good life. In fact every country should teach their tradition and cultural roots first , then other subjects. 

The next big thing that a school should teach love and respect for the mother tongue of the child and the nation. If a child learns to underestimate their own mother tongue , their own state, their own country then even after being so much successful in life, they will miss the beautiful essence of life. 

The moral values are also very important things that has to be taught to a child. Any school failing to teach moral values in a school or not having any class on moral values are actually not preparing the child in a proper way, and then when these children commit crimes when they grow big, we blame the upbringing.

The upbringing of a child needs the contribution of the parents, school, and the society. Today if a growing child is not taught these things well by parents teachers and society, then the child will not become fit for the society or even living in a family. 

Today there are an adverse increase in the crime rate of all nations. So if schools are not taking seriously these points, then we are actually not building a strong, civilized and beautiful society.
