Most of us have found that falling sleep becomes really troubling for us at times. But not getting to sleep at all is something very serious. This is because sleep helps us to restore the energy for the next day's activity, and if we do not get a single night's sleep it becomes very drowsy for us the next day. So let me share with you those things which I do to get my nights sleep. But let me tell you something, every one of us have got different body structure so things that I follow to get some sleep might not be same for another person. But in general we are Humans so things can click with one another.
Maintaining the exact time
Yes, this rule is to be followed strictly if you want to get good timely sleep at night. Suppose you go to sleep at 10 pm. then stick to that time. Don't ever skip that timing for any reason. If you start skipping or missing this timing then be sure you will never get sleep at the exact time you want. Our body is like a clock and it sets the alarm within itself, the way you give the input. So if you continue to sleep at 10 a.m. for 3 days, the alarm will be set automatically in your body clock…Isn't that interesting???
Reading before sleep
I don't know if all of you will find it helpful. I read a good book which is not something very adventurous or thrilling. Its preferably a light minded book like books on great personalities. Which I choose before going to sleep. I do find it very effective in falling in sleep at night.
After dinner walk
I take a good walk after having my dinner at 8 pm. This walk actually helps in digestion and making your muscles tensed to that extent that you get tired and fall asleep.
Avoiding coffee at night
Drinking coffee at night is not recommendable because I have found out the days I had coffee, my sleep was not good enough.
listening to light music
This I do occasionally, not always. But I have got very good results for this too. I listen to my favorite songs before going to sleep and this has been very effective. Due to shortage of time, I cant follow it everyday. But trust me, it worked for me.
loose garments and dark cool room
This is an absolutely important thing to follow. Wearing light, comfortable, light colored clothes actually helps your blood circulation. And a dark cool room is just the thing that you need for good sleep.
