This is a documentary film that I watched on Netflix recently. This documentary actually points out the loop holes in the society which actually is diminishing the possibilities of the talented students. ]
This documentary points out the bribery scandal of Rick Singer who takes a lot of money from rich parents to get their children admitted to affluent colleges like Harvard. Whether the student has the capacity to get enrolled into the prestigious college is not the lookout, if the parents have got money, then they can enroll their children by the wrong path. This actually diminishes the scopes of another very capable student whose parents might not have so much money.
This documentary points out to the bribery scandal about getting unlawful admission into high profile colleges.
This is also the case in India. But the difference is the man Rick singer got penalized and jailed for this scandal but in our country this business is carried on with flying colors.
Today education is a very good business in our country and throughout the world. What the colleges teach you is never questioned but the tag that the colleges carry with it is what people run after.
In India crores of rupees are spent by rich parents to get admitted to get a mbbs degree. May be the student may not have so much intellect to be a doctor but their rich parents follow their own dream of making their children doctors and engineers and big names in the society.
This actually do not make good citizens or good professionals in the long run. May be that particular student might never dreamed of becoming a doctor but the parents want to a doctor out of him. So they spent crores of rupees on their children to get that MBBS DEGREE.
Many students are there who do not get chances to good colleges due to one or two marks and their parents cant afford to put them in affluent colleges. But the system do not look for those kind of students who can actually make good doctors or professionals in the long run. The scopes are only given to those students whose parents have lots of money to waste on their children.
I use the term waste because this kind of children would never have that dedication on their profession which a deserving student might have if given a legitimate chance to study in good colleges.
So that's the irony…!!
