I heard my mother parents utter a Bengali proverb many a times during my childhood. I would just illustrate the proverb. It said that those trees which have greater number of fruits in it bend more than the ones who have lesser number of fruits. This signifies that people who have more virtues and education they are more modest and they are like those bending trees having more fruits. Rather than those less educated people who are like those trees having lesser fruits. More fruits in the trees make them bend more but lesser fruits do not make you bend much. Here bending means being modest and polite.  

Today you can find almost all people around you educated and learned with big big degrees but how many of them do have a modest and good behavior?????

If you get into a affluent school or college you boast the name of that institute and feel proud about it, rather than working on yourself and making a better personality out of you. 

MEN OR WOMEN WHO ARE TRULY EDUCATED DO NOT BOAST OFF THEIR DEGREES AND TALENTS TO EVERYONE, THEIR MODEST AND RESPECTFUL ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS OTHERS ….makes them what they are…!!

Today smartness has got a very wrong definition and young people are following them thoroughly. But the question is …why???

Smartness nowadays means having a good mobile, speaking in English, having a dashing boyfriend and behaving as rudely as you can…..?? And these qualities defines your smartness nowadays …rather than those beautiful qualities which our school teachers, mothers, aunties , grandmothers showcased at their times. They used to showcase modesty. They used to bend low just to make the family be happy. They were kind in their words and behaviors unlike we people. They used to show respect towards elders and young people. Their was a politeness in whatever they used to do. Modesty was in their upbringing… But where do we find these qualities now???

Todays smartness is wearing high heels, talking rubbish over the android or iphone, cheating the partners and bla , bla, bla,…..

 So we are not getting to see those truly educated men or women anymore whose virtues would actually make them modest…., like those bending trees with lots of fruits in them. 

If we do not learn to bend like those trees having fruits , then it definitely signifies that you are fruitless or virtue less. So this is what we should always keep in mind..

Do we want to bear fruits and become virtuous or become fruitless or virtue less trees, standing straight with no sign of bending….???
