Self confidence is the key to grow a confident child. There can be any situation to which parents can be subjected to. Like scarcity of money, living space, food, and many more things might be missing but a parent cant afford to loose their self confidence in rearing a child.

For any child, the confidence in their parents eyes can take him to a stable and confident world of his own. No child wants to get a feeling of in-confidence . So its the duty of the parents to induce confidence in their children right from childhood. 

There are two cases which I will describe which are vastly followed in our country.

Case 1 (Both working Parents)

In the present world mostly both the parents are seen to work . In different profession parents want to earn these days because earning is a necessity these days. 

Mostly the mothers are attached to the child. Although many fathers are also seen to take the role of mothers these days. So whatever be the case. the requirement is the confidence in the parents. If a mother earns a lot of money but fails to give confidence to the child , then its meaningless. Most of the working parents think that they provide so much too their children so the child will definitely grow up to be confident. But that's not true. Children faces different situation in life and in those times they need to get solution and confidence from their parents. If the parents ignore the child and only earns a lot of money, its meaningless.  A child needs to express his worries, his inner fear, his pain to the parents. And parents need to find out the mental growth of the child. They need to constantly support them and solve their problems . This can make a the child grow to a confident human being. 

Case2 ( Non working Mother ,working Father)

In our country , still many mothers are non working. But this non-earning status of the mothers should not induce inconfidence in their children. So what if the mother is not working? Even our mothers and grannies were non working, but still they managed to give us the confidence. So its not how much money you earn that provides confidence in the children, its the mental support and understanding that you give to your child.

Many non working mothers were able to make the best sons and daughters which are written in history. 

Mother of  Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was not a working mother but she could raise the most confident son of India.

So its what you teach the child, and how to bring up the child that matters. Only that can help to induce confidence in the child. Nothing else really matters.
