Most of us have a wrong concept about happiness. We always try to get happiness in every form and get frustrated when we fail to get any. We we need to understand what happiness is actually.
There are certain things which we can start following in order to get happiness in life. These points actually are very easy to follow but you need a lot of practice to master them.
Stop expecting from others
Yes, this is the root of all unhappiness in life. We expect a lot from others especially our near and dear ones. When we do not get what we want we all feel unhappy. You need to understand that all what you expect from others will not always be achievable. They may or may not be achieved. And its not what you expect from others , its what others want to give you. If you expect love from your partner always, it might not be achieved . But that should not decide your happiness in life.
Happiness is all in the journey
We all fail to understand that all that we are doing 'now' can bring us happiness or sadness in our life. If we focus on ‘now’ then we can actually lead a fulfilling life. If we give our best effort now then we can gift ourselves with the greatest happiness both while practicing the process and when we get the result of the process. So its a two way achievement.
Don't set a destination or target to receive happiness
We all think that after a certain achievement we will receive all happiness in life. Like we think that after getting a good job, or after getting married we will get all happiness in life. But this targets should never decide our happiness. We should not run after destination to receive happiness. We have to get the happiness in the process. You might or might not get a very satisfying job because it does not only depend on you. It depends on others like your boss, your colleagues, your pay, your stress level which will play a role in your happiness. Similarly if you wait for your marriage to be happy, then that also depends on your partner. So don't think that after achieving your goals in life you will receive every happiness in your life. That's really a foolish thinking. Rather live every moment with your best effort.
Don't suffer thinking you are the most neglected person
When you do not get what you want from others , you feel that you are the most neglected person on this earth. This is quite natural and we all fall into the trap of this negative feeling. This is natural and quite the truth. But not every person on this earth you give you the best treatment in life. And most of us are unlucky in this regard. So its better not to expect good response and behavior and respect from others always. Sometimes it so happens we always get badly treated by our friends and family. That is also quite true for many of us. We are constantly underestimated, devalued and disrespect. Many suicides occur due to this very reason. But think of a poor beggar, or a cobbler, a rickshaw puller and many people who are not having a good status in the society. They get maltreated everyday. They do not get the due respect always from the society. But still they do not commit suicide or feel the most neglected person on this earth. They take life practically and they have accepted life in the way it is. So if they get to enjoy a good meal some day, thats like the greatest happiness for them. If you can lead a life like them you wont ever feel neglected.
Enjoy what you do
You have to enjoy your work from your soul. No matter what you do, that job or work is helping you to earn your daily bread and that is giving you many joy in life. You can buy medicine for yourself if you are ill and that job is giving you that facility,. So never think bad about your job. If you are not enjoying it, think of other options but dont give it up before you are settled with other job.
Don't compare your life with others
We all are doing this mistake every time. We are constantly comparing ourselves with others lives. We compare our earning, our job, our house, our cars, our lifestyle constantly with others. And that leads us to the greatest satisfaction in life. We need to understand that we have achieved our best in life. And that could be a small flat, a scooter and our basic necessities. We have tried our level best and achieved that. And others also have given their best efforts and have achieved their best. So never try to be happy with what others have achieved. This will leave you unsatisfied. If you are getting everything necessary for a good life, don't ask for more. That will also bring more pain in your life.
Be thankful
Always feel thankful for all that you have in life. Thank God for everyday in your life. Thank God for your journey.
Exercise and walking
Exercise and daily walking can actually trigger your ‘feel good’ hormone. So practice them regularly. This two practices can work miracles in your life. Never miss a day without practicing them.
Meditation and prayers
Like exercise and walking, also do meditation and prayers everyday. These can actually bring happiness in your life.
Accept failures
If you are good at it, then you are good at anything in life. Success will come once in a while, most of the times we have to deal with failures. So keep working more and more so that you can travel from failure to failure with ease. Accept failure as a part of your life and this can make your life really easy.
Get treated if you have any mental or physical ailments
Always give importance to your physical or mental illness. If you require treatment, go for it immediately. You cannot lead a happy life with physical or mental ailments. You require timely treatment. And if you find people with this kind of ailments, proactively try to help them get out of the pain. That would actually heal you and bring a satisfaction in your life.
