While scrolling through different posts on social media platform Instagram, I saw a reel where a young man was trying to pull the attention of a news reporter towards the drawbacks of vaccination arrangement in the country. Meanwhile, the news reporter asked the his opinion on the statements passed by “Baba Ramdev” in the recent past regarding the allopathic mode of medical treatment.
As soon as the young man heard the term "BABA" as the salutation for Yog Guru Ramdev, his temperament skyrocketed. He asked the reporter “Why are you calling him BABA? Has he ever been involved in any kind of religious activity? I don't know any Baba Ramdev!". To which the reporter replied that the work that Yog Guru Ramdev has done in the past years to bring the name of country on the world map by promoting Yoga, such a gentleman definitely deserves the title of BABA. And from there on, they began debate on the justification for the right title of Baba Ramdev. But the question that kicked my mind was “Does this even matter?”
Few more questions started popping in my mind like Allopathic vs Ayurvedic medical treatment, Is ayurveda vanishing?, Influence of terms like BABA, YOGI, MAHARAJ, SWAMI on the common people especially youth. Well, PATANJALI is a well known brand. Daily household commodities, groceries, personal care, beauty products and what not. Patanjali has a huge variety of products under its banner and customer loyalty is unmatched by any other brand. Last year, Patanjali launched a product with the name “CORONIL”. This product promises to boost the immunity of the consumers.
All this is acceptable because at the end of the day, if one has to become a great businessman they have to sell their products without involvement of any logic in the advertisements. But the issue arises when you start promoting your product by criticizing the competition. Although, this is the best practice that I've seen in the recent times. The practice of allopathic medical treatment has proved to be super beneficial in the time of Pandemic. Even the best practitioners of Ayurveda can't deny the invention of Vaccines that prevent against deadly diseases over time. Each and every method of medical treatment is good in my opinion until and unless the pockets of the consumers are compromised and the side effects over take the cure.
But business surpasses every profession and goods are compromised in regards to the quality.
